System Training:
Level I
|
Our System Training Programs (Levels 1-3)
allow you
to receive quality classical-style Pilates education in a time frame
that is more conducive to your busy life. These programs are ideal for
working
people with less flexible schedules.
Each program (Levels 1-3) allow you to fully
learn and teach classical style Pilates on the apparatus
(Mat, Reformer, Chairs, Cadillac, Small Barrels and Magic Circle), and
also allows you to learn in three stages: Level 1 -
Beginner/Intermediate; Level 2 - Intermediate; Level 3 - Advanced.
During the four-weekend Level I program, you
will be
prepared to teach classical style private and semi-private sessions on
the apparatus at a beginner/intermediate level. You will learn the
entire Power Pilates Beginner System along with a handful of
intermediate level exercises.
All four weekends are required for Level I
Certification.

Comprehensive
|
Our Comprehensive certification training is
our most
extensive program and covers beginner, intermediate and advanced level
exercises utilizing all Pilates apparatus including the Mat, Reformer,
Cadillac, Chair, Barrels, Ped-o-Pull and Magic Circle.
You will also understanding how to work with
special
case clients (e.g., back, neck, knee, shoulder problems, pre and post
natal). You will continue to utilize the teaching tools learned during
the beginner and intermediate mat weekends, building and developing
your teaching skills.
Once you pass and complete all aspects of the
program, you will receive your valuable and respected Power Pilates
Instructor Certification.
All four weekends are required for
certification.

Empowering Your Pregnancy-Mat

The pre-natal section of the seminar will focus on
the adaptations that are necessary to challenge the changing body of
your pregnant clientele. We will review the evolving physiology of the
client, as well as, the adaptations needed on the mat work throughout
the duration of the pregnancy. The post-partum section will address the
specific needs
of your clientele upon returning to Pilates after giving birth.

Empowering Your
Pregnancy-Apparatus

Susan Moran developed this workshop during her own pregnancy. It
addresses the anatomical changes that occur during pregnancy. These
changes
necessitate a restructuring of the PP workout. Following a brief
overview of the
physiological effects on the body, the class format is a
sequential workout that is
appropriate and safe, yet still challenging to the pregnant client. An
important
aspect of this workshop is cueing.

Review including Transitions

This course will review the Intermediate/Advanced Reformer exercises as
well as transitions. You will learn how to achieve minimum movement for
the transitions of the advanced Reformer exercises to maximize the
efficiency of flow for your client’s workout. This class is meant to
help “clean up” and reinforce the effective transitional movements,
while eliminating redundancy in order to achieve fluidity of movement.
Please bring questions regarding any aspects of the advanced Reformer
exercises.

Barrels of Fun!

Joseph Pilates created a beautiful progression on an often-overlooked
piece of equipment: The Barrel. Wipe the dust off your Barrels and
remember what a great piece of equipment they can be! The Barrel allows
access to gradually open two very restricted areas of our body: the
hips and shoulders. We will work through this progression from the Small
Barrel up to the Ladder Barrel in such a way that it becomes easier to
incorporate the Barrels into almost every workout.
